About Granules India

Granules India Limited is a pharmaceutical company with four lines of business: active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), pharmaceutical formulation intermediates (PFIs), finished dosages (FDs) and peptide contract development and manufacturing (CDMO). It runs an integrated business model across APIs, PFIs and finished dosages, and sells to pharmaceutical customers in regulated and emerging markets.

Its core products include paracetamol, metformin, ibuprofen and controlled substances. Finished dosages are the largest division of the business and cover both prescription and over-the-counter products. The peptide CDMO operations emerged as a distinct business vertical during the year to March 2026. North America is the largest market, and Europe is the market that grew fastest in that year.

The manufacturing network spans India, the USA and Switzerland. In India, plants are located in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, including Jeedimetla, Bonthapally and Gagillapur in Telangana and Vizag in Andhra Pradesh. A further site is in Virginia in the USA, and the Granules Life Sciences facility is also in Telangana. The peptide CDMO site is at Dielsdorf in Switzerland, and a peptide platform in India works from a Centre of Excellence at IIT Hyderabad. The registered office is in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The company was incorporated in 1991. In the year to March 2026 it completed the acquisition of Senn Chemicals AG in Switzerland, which marked its entry into peptide CDMO.

Written from the annual report for the year to Mar 2026, filed 15 Jul 2026.
