About mutual fund screener

Mutual fund screener is a table of every live mutual fund in India, one row per fund, with its returns, its rank within its category, its risk figures, its costs and its holdings. Filters narrow the list by name, category, fund house, riskometer level or any figure, and each column can set the order.

Plans and rows

Direct plans are shown unless the switch is set to Regular. A Direct plan buys from the fund house without a distributor, so it carries no distributor commission in its expense ratio. Direct plans date from 1 Jan 2013. The default view lists the 50 largest funds by fund size.

Returns and rank

Returns are the change in NAV (net asset value, the price of one unit) from the start date to the latest NAV. Over a year and longer the page also gives CAGR, the yearly rate that would compound to the same change. Rank 3Y is the fund's place among funds of its category that have a return over the same three years, highest return first.

Categories

SEBI sorts schemes into set categories, each with an investment rule, such as a Large Cap fund holding at least 80% in large cap companies. SEBI's circular of 26 Feb 2026 revised the categories, adding Sectoral Debt and setting a minimum of 80% in equity for Dividend Yield funds. Every category has its own page, so a rank compares only funds bound by the same rule.

Riskometer

The riskometer is SEBI's label of a scheme's risk on six levels: Low, Low to Moderate, Moderate, Moderately High, High and Very High. Fund houses reassess it every month, so a fund's level can change.

Costs and size

Expense ratio is what a fund charges each year as a share of the money invested. It is taken out of the NAV every day, so the returns shown are already after it. SEBI revised the expense limits from 1 Apr 2026. Fund size is the money the fund manages for all its investors across every plan, at the end of the month.

Filters and sort choices are kept in the address, so a screen can be shared.
