About Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund schemes

Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund is the mutual fund of the Aditya Birla Group and Sun Life, run by Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Limited. This page lists its schemes with returns, size and cost, its fund managers, investor complaints and its votes at company meetings.

Sponsors and trustee

The sponsors are Aditya Birla Capital Limited, part of the Aditya Birla Group, and Sun Life (India) AMC Investments Inc. A sponsor is the company that sets up the fund and backs it. Aditya Birla Sun Life Trustee Private Limited is the trustee. It oversees the asset management company, checks that its transactions follow SEBI regulations and reviews its activities. The trust was constituted on 16 Dec 1994, and SEBI registered the fund on 23 Dec 1994 under number MF/020/94/8.

Asset management company

Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Limited, incorporated on 5 Sep 1994 and listed on BSE and NSE, is the investment manager of the fund. An asset management company (AMC) is the firm that picks the investments and manages the schemes day to day. The same firm also runs portfolio management services and alternative investment funds, which are separate from the mutual fund schemes listed here.

Types of schemes

The house runs equity, hybrid, debt, index, exchange traded (ETF) and fund of funds schemes, and debt index funds that mature on a set date. This page groups them as equity, hybrid, debt, solution oriented, and index funds, ETFs and funds of funds, and links each category to its own page. Solution oriented means retirement and children's funds: SEBI discontinued that category on 26 Feb 2026, and its Master Circular of 20 Mar 2026 lets a fund house keep such funds on conditions. A fund of funds holds units of other funds instead of shares or bonds.

How the page measures a fund house

Assets managed is the average money across the house's funds over the latest quarter, added up. Money that its own funds of funds hold in its other funds is counted once. Returns are for the Direct plan where one exists, and 3 and 5 year figures are annualised, meaning the yearly rate that compounds to the total gain.

Fund managers, complaints and voting

The manager table is sorted by the money in each manager's funds. A fund with two managers counts in full for each, so totals overlap. The start date is the earliest the house files for that manager on any of its funds. The page also shows investor complaints received, resolved and open for the latest month, and how the house voted on resolutions at company meetings in the latest quarter.
