About Container Corporation of India

Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) is a multimodal logistics company (one using more than one mode of transport) that moves, handles and stores containers for India's export-import (EXIM) and domestic trade.12 Its customers include shipping lines, importers and exporters, customs house agents, freight forwarders and corporate shippers.3

Besides moving containers by rail, it offers first and last mile road transport (pickup and delivery between the customer and the rail terminal), port connectivity, bulk cement movement in tank containers, cold chain logistics, air cargo and overseas shipping.4 It provides services across 22 states and runs rail services to Nepal and Bangladesh.3 No single customer brought in 10% or more of consolidated revenue in the year to Mar 2026 or the year before.5

It was incorporated in 1988 and has held Navratna status, which gives large state-owned companies more freedom to invest, since 2014.67 Its wholly owned subsidiaries include a cold storage company that leases out its space and CONCOR Air, which began air cargo operations in October 2025.89 It also holds majority stakes in Punjab Logistics Infrastructure and SIDCUL CONCOR Infra, which run multimodal logistics parks (hubs linking rail, road and warehousing) in Punjab and at Pantnagar in Uttarakhand.1011

The Government of India holds 54.80% of its shares through the Ministry of Railways, which appoints all its directors.1 Ajit Kumar Panda became chairman and managing director in August 2026.12
