About AWL Agri Business

AWL Agri Business Limited is an Indian food and agribusiness company. It makes and sells edible oils and packaged food staples to households, and also serves HoReCa and institutional customers. Its flagship brand is Fortune, and its portfolio spans edible oils, wheat flour, rice, pulses, besan and sugar.

The business is organised in three segments: Edible Oils, Food and FMCG, and Industry Essentials. Industry Essentials includes oleochemicals. The company runs an integrated model that brings together sourcing, processing and distribution.

Its Mundra refinery anchors the edible oil operations, and it has an integrated food complex at Gohana, Haryana. The company has a network of over 70 manufacturing units and more than 110 distribution centres, and its distribution reaches 2.6 million retail outlets. It also owns Bangladesh Edible Oil Limited in Bangladesh, and holds a 50:50 joint venture with the Vishakha Group that makes multilayer flexible films for packaging.

It was incorporated in 1999. In August 2024 it acquired a 67% stake in Omkar Chemical Industries Private Limited, a Gujarat-based specialty chemicals company. It has also acquired G.D. Foods Manufacturing (India) Private Limited, founded in 1984, the owner of the Tops brand. The company was a joint venture between the Adani Group and the Wilmar Group. Adani Commodities LLP has since sold its entire shareholding, and Lence Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of Wilmar International Limited, Singapore, is now the majority shareholder.

Written from the annual report for the year to Mar 2026, filed 13 Jun 2026 and the investor presentation.
