About Bandhan Mutual Fund schemes

Bandhan Mutual Fund schemes are the mutual funds run by Bandhan AMC Limited, the fund house known as IDFC Mutual Fund until 2023. Its sponsor is Bandhan Financial Holdings, the promoter of Bandhan Bank. The schemes cover equity, hybrid, debt, retirement, index and exchange traded funds.

Sponsor and ownership

A sponsor is the company that sets up a mutual fund and puts in its first capital. Bandhan Financial Holdings became the sponsor on 31 Jan 2023, when it acquired the controlling stake in the asset management and trustee companies from IDFC Financial Holding Company. Bandhan Financial Holdings and its nominees hold 59.98% of the asset management company, Lathe Investment Pte. Ltd. 19.99% and Tangerine Investments Limited 16.66%.

History and name

The fund house began as ANZ Grindlays Mutual Fund. Its asset management company was incorporated on 20 Dec 1999, the trust was constituted on 29 Dec 1999, and SEBI registered the fund on 13 Mar 2000 under number MF/042/00/3. Standard Chartered Bank took over the business in 2001, and IDFC bought Standard Chartered's shares in the asset management company on 30 May 2008. The asset management and trustee companies took their Bandhan names on 19 Apr 2023. Schemes keep their original launch dates through the rename.

Trustee and asset management company

The mutual fund is a trust with two companies working for it. Bandhan Mutual Fund Trustee Limited, formerly IDFC AMC Trustee Company Limited, holds the schemes' assets in trust for investors and checks that the fund house follows SEBI's rules. Bandhan AMC Limited chooses the investments and runs the schemes.

Schemes on this page

The page lists every live Bandhan scheme in five groups: equity, hybrid, debt, solution oriented, and index funds, ETFs and fund of funds. Each row shows the NAV (net asset value, the price of one unit), returns over 1, 3 and 5 years, fund size and expense cost. Returns are for the plan the scheme's own page leads with, Direct where the scheme has one. Three and five year returns are yearly rates, compounded.

Assets managed, managers and voting

Assets managed is the average money in the fund house's schemes over a quarter, added across its schemes, with money held in its own funds of funds counted once. The manager table counts a scheme run by two managers in full for each. The page also shows investor complaints for the latest month, how the fund house voted at company meetings in the latest quarter, and its factsheet, Statement of Additional Information and annual report.
