About Syngene International
Syngene International Limited is a Bengaluru-based contract research, development and manufacturing organisation (CRDMO) that takes drug molecules from early research through development to commercial-scale manufacturing for its clients.12 It serves large, mid-sized and emerging biopharma companies as well as nutrition, animal health, consumer goods and specialty chemical businesses, from campuses in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mangaluru.32
It works across small molecules (chemically made drugs), peptides, biologics (drugs made from living cells), antibody-drug conjugates and oligonucleotides (short synthetic strands of DNA or RNA).3 Its Research Services comprise Discovery Services, Dedicated Centers (research sites run for a single client) and Translational & Clinical Research (early-phase clinical trials), while its development and manufacturing business makes small and large molecules for clinical trials and commercial supply.456 Clients hire it through models that include dedicated labs, full-time-equivalent teams and fee-for-service work; Syngene performs research on behalf of its clients on a contract basis and assigns the intellectual property to them.789 Its named platforms include Syn.AI, SARchitect and SynVent.510 At the end of March 2026 it had 8,373 employees, including 5,778 scientists.11
