About the BSE Saatvik 100
BSE Saatvik 100 measures the performance of the top 100 companies in the BSE 500 that align with Saatvik principles. It is maintained by BSE Index Services Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of BSE India Ltd.
How companies are chosen
Companies in direct conflict with the Saatvik principles are excluded. The principles are non-violence (Ahimsa), compassion for living beings, and avoidance of toxic and addictive products and habits.
The eligible universe is the constituents of the BSE 500, less stocks in excluded basic industries, among them Breweries & Distilleries and Meat Products including Poultry.
Eligible stocks are ranked by average 6-month total market capitalisation. At each review the top 80 enter or stay, members ranked 81 to 120 are kept in rank order until there are 100, and non-members fill any gap in rank order.
How it is weighted
Constituents are weighted by their float-adjusted market capitalisation.
When it is reviewed
The index is rebalanced semi-annually, in Jun and Dec.
Base date and value
The index launched on 17 Jun 2026, and its values are calculated back to 20 Jun 2005.
