About the Nifty India Corporate Group Index - Tata Group
The Nifty India Corporate Group Index - Tata Group is an index of all the Tata Group companies listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), developed by NSE Indices Limited. It held 23 companies on 30 Sep 2026.
How companies are chosen
Every company in the Tata corporate group that is domiciled in India and listed on NSE is eligible, and DVR shares (shares with differential voting rights) of eligible companies also form part of the index.
How it is weighted
The index is calculated by the full market capitalisation method, which measures the total equity value of the Tata group companies listed on NSE. A separate variant, the Tata Group 25% Cap index, caps each constituent at 25%.
When it is reviewed
A new listing, or a company that left through a corporate action such as a demerger, is screened for inclusion every quarter, at the end of Jan, Apr, Jul and Oct, and, if eligible, joins from the last trading day of Mar, Jun, Sep and Dec. A company is excluded on suspension, delisting or a corporate event such as a scheme of arrangement.
Base date and value
The index has a base date of 1 Apr 2005 and a base value of 1000. It was launched on 16 Dec 2015.
