About the Nifty Next 100
The Nifty Next 100 is an index of 100 stocks on NSE, made of the 50 stocks of the Nifty Next 50 and the 50 largest from the Nifty Midcap 150 by free-float market capitalization. Free float is the floating stock available for trading; the free float factor leaves out promoter and lock-in shares. NSE Indices Limited maintains it.
How companies are chosen
Companies in the Nifty Next 50 or the Nifty Midcap 150 are eligible. All Nifty Next 50 stocks are included first, and the remaining places go to Nifty Midcap 150 stocks ranked by 6-month average free-float market capitalization.
A Nifty Midcap 150 company that is not a member is added only if its free-float market capitalization is at least 1.5 times that of the smallest member from the midcap segment.
How it is weighted
Each stock's weight is based on its free-float market capitalization.
When it is reviewed
The index is reconstituted twice a year, in Mar and Sep, using data for the previous six months ended Jan and Jul.
A suspension, delisting or scheme of arrangement affecting a member triggers an additional reconstitution outside the schedule.
Base date and value
The index has a base date of 1 Oct 2010 and a base value of 1000. It was launched on 4 Aug 2026.
