About Techno Electric & Engineering Company

Techno Electric & Engineering Company Limited is an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor that builds power generation, transmission and distribution projects in India for government bodies and private enterprises.1 It also installs and operates smart electricity meters under long-term contracts, and is developing data centres under its Techno Digital brand.23

The business runs as 3 verticals: EPC; asset deployment, which builds and operates transmission and smart metering projects under long-term concessions (contracts to build and run an asset for a set period); and asset ownership, which holds hyperscale data centres (very large campuses built for cloud companies) and edge data centres (small sites close to users).4 Its EPC work covers extra high voltage substations up to 765 kV, transmission lines, flue gas desulphurisation systems that cut sulphur dioxide emissions at coal power plants, and balance-of-plant work (the supporting systems around a power plant's main equipment) for thermal and hydro plants.567

The company was incorporated in 2005 and has its registered office in Gurugram, Haryana, and its corporate office in Kolkata.8 It says it has worked on India's power infrastructure for over 4 decades.9 Promoters held 56.92% of its shares at 31 March 2026.10 Padam Prakash Gupta is Managing Director, and Ankit Saraiya is Whole-time Director and Chief Executive Officer.11

Net margin is left blank for Jun 2025: the profit includes the result of a business the company has discontinued, which the revenue does not, so the two make no margin.

Business segments

In the year to Mar 2026 the company reports one business segment, EPC, which carries all its revenue.

Return is price growth plus the average dividend yield. Change in P/E is (1 + price growth) / (1 + earnings growth) - 1, so the parts compound rather than add. Earnings growth over 1 year is on profit divided by shares in issue at both ends: the earnings per share stated for one end does not match that year's profit and share count. Earnings growth over 1 and 3 years includes one-off items (exceptional items and the result of businesses sold or closed) of more than a tenth of the profit of the years to Mar 2023 and Mar 2025.
