About stock splits in 2025

Stock splits in 2025 are the splits of NSE and BSE listed companies whose ex-date fell in calendar 2025. A split divides each share into several shares of lower face value. The page lists each one by month with its old and new face value, record date, ex-date, price and market cap.

What a split is

A split, or sub-division, replaces each share with several shares of a lower face value, the nominal value printed on the share and unrelated to its market price. A ₹5 share split into five ₹1 shares turns a holding of 100 shares into 500. The split alone does not change market cap; the price per share adjusts on the ex-date.

Record date and ex-date in 2025

The record date is the day the company's register is checked to see who receives the split shares. The ex-date is the first day the share trades without that entitlement. Trades settle on the next working day (T+1), so in 2025 the ex-date normally fell on the record date itself.

A few rows show the ex-date one day before the record date. In most of them the record date fell on a weekend or market holiday, so the ex-date is the last trading day before it.

How this page builds the list

The list holds every split with an ex-date in 2025, grouped by month with the latest ex-date first. Each row gives the company with its ticker and industry, the face value before and after, the record date, the ex-date, the price and market cap. Price and market cap are the latest figures.

Ratio from the face values

Dividing the old face value by the new gives the ratio: ₹10 to ₹2 and ₹5 to ₹1 are both 5 for 1, and ₹2 to ₹1 is 2 for 1. Charts on this site divide earlier prices by the same ratio.

Split and bonus issue

A bonus issue also raises the share count, but by issuing new shares out of reserves at an unchanged face value. Bajaj Finance did both on 16 Jun 2025: a split from ₹2 to ₹1 and a 4 for 1 bonus. Adani Power split from ₹10 to ₹2 in Sep 2025.
