About the BSE PSU Bank
The BSE PSU BANK index measures the performance of public sector banks within the BSE 500. It is maintained by BSE Index Services Pvt. Ltd.
How companies are chosen
The universe is the BSE 500. Only common stocks with an industry of Banks that are classified under the BSE Scrip Category as a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) are eligible.
At each rebalancing, all eligible stocks are selected, so the index has no fixed number of members.
How it is weighted
Constituents are weighted by float-adjusted market capitalisation, with each stock capped at 25%. Investable weight factors define the available float for a company. The cap is applied quarterly, at market open on the Monday after the third Friday of Mar, Jun, Sep and Dec.
When it is reviewed
The index is rebalanced semiannually, in Jun and Dec.
Base date and value
The index launched on 1 Jan 2025. Its first value date is 20 Jun 2005.
