About NBFC list

NBFC stocks are shares of listed non-banking financial companies, firms that lend and invest like banks but cannot take deposits payable on demand. This page lists every company the exchanges class as an NBFC, largest by market cap first, with price, market cap, P/E and price returns.

What an NBFC is

A non-banking financial company is a company registered under the Companies Act whose main business is lending or investing in securities, and it must be registered with the Reserve Bank of India. It cannot take deposits payable on demand or issue cheques drawn on itself, and deposits with one are not covered by deposit insurance.

Kinds of NBFC

RBI groups NBFCs by activity: investment and credit companies, housing finance companies, infrastructure finance companies, core investment companies, microfinance institutions and others. The exchanges give housing finance companies, microfinance institutions and financial institutions sub-industries of their own, so they are not on this page.

RBI's four layers

Under RBI's scale-based regulation, NBFCs sit in four layers: base, middle, upper and top. Every deposit-taking NBFC, and every other NBFC with assets of ₹1,000 crore or more, sits in the middle layer or above. Since an RBI change in Jun 2026, the upper layer is every NBFC with assets of ₹1,00,000 crore or more.

How this page works

The page lists companies classed under the Non Banking Financial Company sub-industry.

Market cap is share price times number of shares. P/E is market cap divided by the last twelve months' profit that belongs to the company's own shareholders. The 1D and 1Y columns are price changes adjusted for splits and bonuses, with dividends not added.

Reading NBFC figures

ROCE is operating profit after depreciation, leaving out other income and one-off items, divided by net worth plus borrowings. A lender's borrowing is the raw material of its business and its income is mostly interest, so the measure does not describe a lender. The site leaves ROCE and debt to equity blank for lenders.
