About bonus shares in 2026

Bonus shares in 2026 are the free extra shares that NSE and BSE listed companies gave their shareholders in a fixed ratio, such as 1 for 1, with an ex-date in the year. This page lists each bonus issue by month with its ratio, record date and ex-date.

What the list shows

Each company is listed on NSE or BSE and has an ex-date in 2026. Issues are grouped by month. Life Insurance Corporation of India gave 1 for 1 in May 2026, and Trent 1 for 2 in Jun 2026. Each row gives the company, the ratio written as X for Y, the record date, the ex-date, the price and the market cap in crore. Year tabs lead to 2021 to 2025.

Reading the ratio

A bonus issue turns a company's reserves into new shares, handed out without payment. A ratio of 1 for 1 gives one new share for each share held, so holdings double. Each share then stands for a smaller part of the same company, so the price falls in proportion on the ex-date. A stock split divides each share's face value instead of using reserves.

Record date and ex-date

The record date is the day the company reads its shareholder register to see who receives the shares. The ex-date is the first day the shares trade without the bonus. Under next-day settlement, in force on every share since 27 Jan 2023, the ex-date is normally the record date itself. Where the record date is a Saturday, Sunday or market holiday, the ex-date is the trading day before: Delphi World Money's record date, 14 Feb 2026, was a Saturday, so it went ex on 13 Feb.

When the shares arrive

For bonus issues announced from 1 Oct 2024, SEBI sets the timetable from the record date. The shares are allotted on the next working day and can be traded from the second working day after the record date, under the existing ISIN.
