About the BSE Capital Markets
The BSE Capital Markets index measures the performance of all companies classified under the Capital Markets industry, at the third level of industry classification. It is maintained by BSE Index Services Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of BSE Ltd.
How companies are chosen
Members come from the BSE 1000 index, which holds 1000 of the largest and most liquid Indian companies within BSE AllCap. Those classified under the Capital Markets industry are eligible, and every eligible stock is selected.

Float is the part of a company's shares available to trade. Investable Weight Factors define it and are reviewed quarterly.
When it is reviewed
The index is rebalanced semiannually, in Jun and Dec.
Base date and value
The index launched on 29 Aug 2025. Its first value date is 18 Jun 2018.
