Penny stocks list in India: shares under ₹10

The ₹10 line is this page's own working cut-off: a company is listed when its latest close is ₹10 or less. The list moves as prices close above or below the line.

A low price does not mean a small company. Market cap is the share price times the number of shares, so a company with a very large share count can be worth thousands of crore rupees at a price under ₹10, while another with few shares is tiny. The page sorts by market cap.

NSE caps how far a share can move in one day with a price band, a percentage limit on the daily rise or fall. Bands are set per share at 2%, 5%, 10% or 20%; shares with futures and options contracts have no fixed band. SEBI and the exchanges also run surveillance measures, such as the Additional, Graded and Enhanced Surveillance Measures (ASM, GSM and ESM), which can cut a share's price band or move it to trade-for-trade settlement or periodic call auctions.

Return is the change in share price over the window, adjusted for splits and bonuses, with demerged shares counted. Dividends are not added. P/E is market cap divided by the profit attributable to the company's own shareholders over the latest four quarters, or two half-years for companies that report half-yearly.

ROCE is operating profit after depreciation, leaving out other income and one-off items, as a percentage of capital employed. Capital employed is group net worth, including other owners of subsidiaries, plus borrowings. Lease liabilities are not counted, because results filings do not state them.

A price cut-off says nothing about a company's business, debt or trading volume. Thinly traded shares can close at a price few trades support, and loss-making companies have no P/E. Stocks under ₹1 and debt free penny stocks have their own pages.
