Exchange had sought clarification from UltraTech Cement Ltd with respect to news article appearing in Business Standard on December 23, 2015 titled "UltraTech mine plan hits hurdle"UltraTech Cement Ltd has replied stating "We wish to inform you that this development came to our notice from the newspapers itself, no official communication has been received by us from the concerned authority. From the news item it seems that during the course of the assembly proceedings the Hon'ble Agriculture and Water Resources Minister, Government of Chhattisgarh has made a statement that the department will cancel a NOC issued earlier to the Mineral Resource Department in respect of a Letter of Intent for a mining lease granted to the Company in the villages of Moharanga, Math, Kharora and Mura in Chhattisgarh and a fresh survey will be conducted for the mines allotted.No mining activity has commenced in the mines under reference as these mines are for future expansions of the business and the above mentioned development will not have any impact on the Company's existing operations."23 Dec · Legal

News about UltraTech Cement Limited. The media had reports that "CREDAI NCR has decided to ban Shree Cement besides UltraTech Cement". The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the company. UltraTech Cement Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "We became aware of the contents of the news item under reference only on reading about it in the media.
