Exchange had sought clarification from Indusind Bank Limited with respect to a news item captioned "IndusInd Bank to foray into asset reconstruction business". The Bank has clarified that "The article is factually correct and part and parcel of the Bank's normal scope of lending and investment activity; The Bank will work with Asset Reconstruction Companies, but is not setting up one itself; The initiative, which is yet to commence, has been in public domain for quite some time, only to provide more colour on the segments in which the Bank chooses to operate; The Bank is already in the business of reconstruction and recovery of some of its own non-performing assets and this is purely an extension of such historical activity".

Exchange had sought clarification from Indusind Bank Limited with respect to a news item captioned "IndusInd Bank to foray into Asset Reconstruction". The Bank has clarified that there is no material impact of the news story on the Bank. Further, we confirm our interest in participating in buying and / or reconstructing stressed assets in partnership with ARCs. This is one of the many growth initiatives of the Bank, but will be done selectively and will be less than 1% of the Bank's total assets at any point of time. Our internal expertise, cash funding ability and the improved legal framework to realize stressed assets make this business a profitable opportunity."
