Exchange has sought clarification from Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited with respect to recent news item captioned "Kishore Biyani led Future group is in early discussions with Aditya Birla Retail (ABRL) to buy or merge the latter's more supermarket business". In this regard, Exchange have advised the Company to provide clarification/confirmation on the news item in detail including the following: a) Whether such negotiations were taking place and b) Whether you/company are aware of any information that has not been announced to the Exchanges which could explain the aforesaid movement in the trading. Exchange had sought clarification from Pantaloons Fashion & Retail Limited with respect to a news item captioned "US Co Drags Pantaloons to Court Over Infringement Row". The Company has clarified that "Retail Royalty Company had filed a trademark infringement case against the Company in the Hon'ble Delhi High Court ("the Court") alleging that the Company's brand "Urban Eagle" and its logo is deceptively similar to its "American Eagle" Outfitters brand and the eagle logo. The matter was listed for hearing today. While the copy of the Court Order is awaited, it is hereby informed that the Court recorded that "Urban Eagle" brand and its logo is not deceptively similar to the American Eagle brand and its logo. Therefore, Pantaloons has been allowed to continue usage of its existing Brand Name and Logo, except the usage of the words "Authentic Outfitters" in its products".23 Sep · Legal
