Exchange had sought clarification from Aurobindo Pharma Limited with respect to recent news item captioned "AstraZeneca sues Aurobindo over blood sugar drug patent". The Company has clarified that : Aurobindo had filed an ANDA for Saxagliptin tablets certifying P-IV against the relevant patents listed in US FDA Orange Book. Based on this, Astrazeneca had filed a case in a US District Court against Aurobindo. It is usual practice for an innovator company to file law suit against a generic company who files an ANDA with a P-IV certification for a particular product. Aurobindo is responding to the complaint appropriately within the stipulated time frame. This matter is subjudice and will not have any material impact on the Company.

Exchange had sought clarification from Aurobindo Pharma Limited with respect to a news item captioned "Aurobindo Pharma to spend Rs. 1,300 corore in capex". The Company has clarified that "The Company as a good corporate governance practice organizes analyst calls with management to discuss on the published quarterly results. The said news in the media has been captured from the transcript of the call pertaining to second quarter FY 14-15 earnings, held on November 07, 2014 and as published on our website. We have consistently stated that the Company s CapEx including maintenance CapEx is expected to be around Rs.600 crores for FY 2014-15, which will be spread out across APIs and Formulations. It is our broad estimation that CapEx in FY 2015-16 will be around Rs.600 to 700 crores, depending upon the cash flows and on review of CapEx needs. We consider that the news appearing in the media is incorrect and misinterpreted and does not require disclosure under clause 36 of the listing agreement, as this is nothing different than what we have been sharing in the past. We also as a policy do not comment on the media reports and market speculations".
