About penny stocks paying dividends

Penny stocks paying dividends are companies whose share closed at ₹10 or less and that paid a dividend in the last twelve months. The page lists them with the highest dividend yield first.

How the screen works

A company appears when its share price is ₹10 or less and its dividend yield is 0.01% or more. Dividend yield is the dividends per share paid in the past twelve months, as a percentage of the day's share price. Companies are sorted by that yield, highest first, and the list can be narrowed by sector or size.

What counts as a penny stock

Penny stock is an informal label for a very low-priced share. This page uses ₹10 and applies it to the closing price.

Reading the yield

Yield rises when the price falls, so a high figure can come from a small price rather than a large payout. The yield also counts every dividend paid in twelve months, including a one-time special payout that may not repeat. The columns beside it, such as market cap, P/E (market cap divided by the last twelve months' profit) and earnings yield, set the payout against the company's profit.

Limits of the list

Low-priced companies are often small and thinly traded, so the closing price can move sharply on few trades, and a single day's price can move a company in or out of the list. A dividend paid once says little about the next one.
