News Verification : The media had reports on September 18, 2010 that the promoters of Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited may buy 13.02% stake from Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company. Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated," The current holding of Solrex Pharmaceuticals in Orchid is around 7.92%. We do not have any information with regard to sale of shares held by Solrex Pharmaceuticals. The promoters of the company have acquired 5% of the share capital during the financial year 2010-11 which has been intimated to the Stock Exchanges earlier. Hence the news item appearing in the media may be based on market rumours."
