About Samco Mutual Fund schemes

Samco Mutual Fund is a SEBI-registered fund house run by Samco Asset Management Private Limited and sponsored by the broker Samco Securities Limited. It runs actively managed equity, hybrid and debt schemes, and its first scheme allotted units on 4 Feb 2022.

Sponsor, trustee and asset management company

Samco Securities Limited is the sponsor, the company that set up the fund as a trust on 6 Aug 2020. The fund was registered with SEBI on 30 Jul 2021 as MF/077/21/03. Samco Trustee Private Limited is the trustee company: it holds the fund's assets on behalf of unit holders and oversees the asset management company (AMC), the firm that runs the schemes. Samco Asset Management Private Limited, incorporated on 6 Dec 2019, is that AMC.

Schemes it runs

The first scheme was Samco Flexi Cap Fund, which allotted its first units on 4 Feb 2022. Since then the house has added large cap, mid cap, small cap, multi cap and large and mid cap funds, an ELSS tax saver, thematic funds such as Active Momentum and Special Opportunities, hybrid funds (multi asset allocation, dynamic asset allocation and arbitrage) and an overnight debt fund. This page lists each live scheme in three groups: equity, hybrid and debt.

What this page shows

Each scheme row gives its category, NAV, 1-year, 3-year and 5-year returns, size and cost. NAV is the price of one unit. Returns are for the scheme's lead plan, which is the Direct plan where one exists, and 3- and 5-year returns are annualised, meaning the yearly rate that compounds to the total gain. A dash means the scheme is too new to have that history. Size is in crore rupees, and cost is the expense ratio, the yearly fee as a percentage of the money in the scheme.

Assets managed is the average for the latest quarter, summed across the house's schemes, with money one Samco fund of funds holds in another Samco scheme counted once. The page also lists fund managers by the money in their schemes and the date each began running one, along with investor complaints and how the house voted at company meetings.

A young fund house

Samco launched its first scheme in 2022, so none of its schemes has five years of history yet and a 5-year return shows a dash. Its equity schemes are actively managed, with no index funds or ETFs among its live schemes, and the manager table shows how many schemes each manager runs.
