About Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund schemes

Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund schemes are the funds run by Baroda BNP Paribas Asset Management India Private Limited, a joint venture of Bank of Baroda and the BNP Paribas group. Bank of Baroda holds 50.1% of the fund house. The page lists its live funds with NAV, returns, size and cost.

Sponsors and trustee

The fund has two sponsors, the companies that set it up: Bank of Baroda, a state-owned bank founded in 1908, and BNP Paribas Asset Management Asia Limited, part of the French bank group BNP Paribas. They hold 50.1% and 49.9% of the asset management company, which picks the investments and runs the schemes. Baroda BNP Paribas Trustee India Private Limited, formerly Baroda Trustee India Private Limited, is the trustee company that oversees the fund for its investors.

History

Bank of Baroda constituted the trust on 30 Oct 1992 as BOB Mutual Fund, and SEBI registered it on 21 Nov 1994 under number MF/018/94/2, which the fund still uses. Pioneer Global Asset Management bought 51% of the asset management company in 2008 and the fund became Baroda Pioneer Mutual Fund. Bank of Baroda bought that stake back on 28 Sep 2018 and renamed the fund Baroda Mutual Fund. On 14 Mar 2022 the asset management and trustee companies of Baroda Mutual Fund and BNP Paribas Mutual Fund merged, and the combined fund took its present name.

Schemes it runs

The page groups the live funds as equity, hybrid, debt, solution oriented, and index funds, exchange traded funds (ETFs) and fund of funds. A fund of funds invests in other funds rather than directly in shares or bonds. The range runs from multi cap and large cap funds to liquid, overnight, gilt and corporate bond funds, a gold ETF and a Nifty Bank ETF.

How the page shows its funds

Each row gives the fund's category, NAV (the price of one unit), 1-year, 3-year and 5-year returns, size and cost. Returns are for the Direct plan where one exists, and the 3-year and 5-year figures are annualised, the yearly rate that would produce the same total growth. Cost is the expense ratio, the yearly fee charged to the fund as a percentage of its assets. Assets managed is the average over the latest quarter, summed across the house's funds, with money held in its own fund of funds counted once.

Managers, complaints and voting

Managers are listed largest first by the money in their funds, and a fund run by two managers counts in full for each. The page also shows investor complaints received, resolved and still open at month end, how the house's funds voted at company meetings in the latest quarter, and links to the factsheet, the statement of additional information and the annual report.
